About
What is Teleon Gateway
If you want to receive long distance call from your normal phone or cell
phone , while let your caller free of charge, you can consider installing a Teleon
Gateway.
Teleon Gateway is a bridge between a conventional phone network and internet
voice network. It is a PCI card for Windows 2000/XP computer. It has
a FXO RJ11 socket which is connected to you telephone line.

One typical application is, John has a business in
Vancouver and an associates Mike in New York. While John talks
to Mike a lot on his PC, he also can let Mike make calls to
any local phone in Vancouver free of charge, because he
installed a Teleon gateway card. Mike can send a chat message
"atd 604xxxxxxx", and then make a Skype call to
John. This Skype call will be answered automatically by John'
Skype, and then forwarded to Vancouver local number
604xxxxxxx.
Another typical application is, John is leaving his office, to let his cell
phone receive Skype calls from Mike, he set Teleon Gateway to FIX
TRANSFER mode. In this mode, when his Skype receive calls and no one answer the
Skype, it will ring for 40 seconds and then forward this Skype call to John's
cell phone.
In actual deployment, it is easy and cheap to build a scalable soft PBX using Skype as transmission framework and Teleon card as its gateways(
trunks) to the public telephone network.
